EOLIAN consortium gathers for first General Assembly

The EOLIAN partners gathered in Cambridge on 4-5 December to discuss the progress achieved during the project’s first six months.

This ambitious project is developing a new generation of recyclable wind turbine blades based on vitrimer composites. EOLIAN blades, with an embedded structural health monitoring system, will offer improvements in lifespan, repair and recycling, helping to advance sustainability in the wind industry.

EOLIAN Work Packages

This M6 General Assembly was organised by project coordinator Proplast and hosted by Brunel Composites Centre (BCC).

The agenda featured updates on work to date and next steps for the active work packages (WPs):

  • WP1: Industrial requirements and specifications (leader Norvento);
  • WP2: Development of advanced materials based on dynamic covalent bonds (led by Tekniker);
  • WP3: Multiscale modelling and characterisation of vitrimer chemistries (led by Politecnico di Milano);
  • WP4: SHM technologies and operation and maintenance methodologies (led by Tekniker);
  • WP7: Sustainability analysis and risk assessment (led by IRES);
  • WP8: Dissemination and exploitation (led by EuCIA).

 

The event also included a workshop from IRES on LCA/LCC and Risk Assessment Methodologies.

Next meeting

The M12 General Assembly will be held in Spain in June 2025, hosted by Tekniker.
