EOLIAN’s first Advisory Board meeting

25 July 2025

The first meeting of the EOLIAN External Expert Advisory Board took place on 23 July.

The Advisory Board is made up of experts experienced in the manufacture, use and recycling of composite materials. This expert panel will meet annually to learn about EOLIAN’s progress, and offer insights and advice to inform the project’s future activities.

During the online meeting, the EOLIAN partners were pleased to present the results achieved during the project’s first year to Advisory Board members:

  • Jonathan Fuller, Principal Research Engineer at the National Composites Centre;
  • Dr Amir Khamsehnezhad, Non-Metallic Innovation Centre Director at TWI Ltd;
  • Lucio Maragoni, Associate Professor at the University of Padova;
  • Debora Puglia, Associate Professor at the University of Perugia.

The meeting was hosted by EOLIAN project coordinator Marco Monti of Proplast. In concise presentations, the partners outlined the objectives of the project’s work packages (WPs) and the work performed so far:

  • WP1 – Requirements and specifications;
  • WP2 – Vitrimer resin development;
  • WP3 – Multiscale modelling;
  • WP4 – Sensor integration;
  • WP5 – Upscaling and blade manufacturing;
  • WP6 – End-of-life and recycling (starting October 2025);
  • WP7 – Sustainability and risk assessment;
  • WP8 – Dissemination and exploitation.

Following each presentation, partners answered questions posed by the Advisory Board members.

We thank the Advisory Board members for their interest in EOLIAN and active participation in this meeting.

The next meeting will be in June 2026, and we look forward to presenting the progress made during the project’s second year.
